Prof. Manuela Kalsky, born in Salzgitter-Bad (Germany) in 1961, is the Director of the Theological Research Center of the Dominicans DSTS at Nijmegen (NL) and Professor in Theology en Society at the VU University Amsterdam.

prof. dr. Manuela KalskyShe studied theology at the University of Marburg (Germany) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands). From 1989-1993 she worked as a research assistant of feminist and systematic theology at the University of Amsterdam.

She wrote her PhD on christology from the perspective of women in different cultures (title of the book: Christaphanien. Die Re-Vision der Christologie aus der Sicht von Frauen in unterschiedlichen Kulturen, Gütersloh 2001) She was a visiting lecturer in Vienna, Fribourg and Hamburg. She was the chief editor of the Dutch multimedial website on religious flexibility: and of the multimedial website, looking for a new ‘we’ in the Netherlands:

The impact of Christianity on society can be felt around the world - in international politics, economy, arts and cultural ideologies. The opposite is true as well. Christianity and society thus mutually shape and guide each other, with implications for the lives of people everywhere in the world.
The annual lecture Christianity and Society by Ernst Hirsch Ballin, on Christianity and the future of Christian Democracy was held on the 21st of february at the Tilburg University.
